This guide is designed to make it easier to make friends though topical groups in Mexico City. I started creating WhatsApp groups in Jan 2021 to connect my close friends, which grew into a community over ~20 groups and me personally hosting over 120 events in about a year. I've spent the last 2 years building social containers where people who care about culture, art, tech, innovation, food, and friends feel like they belong.
The table below includes all the public groups I've created for Mexico City.
They range from general chats, to topics like art, nightlife, web3, parenting, food, and more. Descriptions are included to help you decide which to join.
Guidelines:
- Join as many groups as you'd like!
- Be respectful. Don't get in fights. DM an admin if you see misbehavior. - Do not advertise or sell anything (except: Marketplace) without permission from admins. - Do not send DMs unless directly related to a post.
- If you leave town for an extended period, exit groups until you return
- Post about events, ask questions, organize hangout, find friends to attend meetups with!
